Body of man found near block of flats in Motherwell as police probe unexplained death

A MAN was found dead near a block of flats in Motherwell, prompting a police investigation.
In the early hours of the morning, police officers were called to the Alexander Path in the city.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene after reports of concern for one person were received.
Tragically, a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the death was currently being treated as unsolved as they began their investigation.
As the investigation continued, a police car was seen outside the Muirhouse block of flats this afternoon.


A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called at around 1.05am on Sunday 20 August to a report of a riot in the Alexander Path area of Motherwell.
“The emergency services were on site and a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
“The death is being treated as unsolved and an investigation is ongoing to clarify the full circumstances.”
