EDIT: This class is now on my IGTV ❤️❤️ I’m teaching a free #yogaonhigh class TODAY on IG Live at 3pm EST. @wegohighnc & @theunderbellyyoga are donating to @criticalresistance, @byp100, @blackdirectaction, @undocublack & #boldorganizing- click the link in my bio to donate and get information about the organizations! If you’re scared to go to class, I feel you – I usually hate trying new types of assignments bc I’m always worried about not knowing enough. Mostly I worry about what other people will think. Sigh. But honestly, yoga isn’t really exercise – it’s a mental practice. Plus, practicing yoga poses is difficult for everyone. Literally everyone. Even “easy” poses are difficult- #corpsepose ?! Bitch, what’s harder than trying to stay still? Yoga poses are hard on purpose – they knock the bad stuff out of you so you can finally get out of your own head. Around every yoga class I’ve been to, there’s a moment where I’m like, “bitch, I really want to die on this yoga mat. Today is judgment day and I am going up in flames. “In that moment, my challenge was to just say “… ..Ok.” Instead of blocking opportunity with my fear, submission is a challenge and submission is varied.Sometimes it looks like spending the whole class in corpse pose or spending the class in tears or class in corpse pose That’s what yoga is – every pose is just a means to help you wake up the bigger butt happening inside. It’s the City of Emotions, ONLY TIME FOR CANCER AND EYE SUMMER TONIGHT’S SUN!!!!! (I’m a double cancer and I’m turning 33 next Saturday. YOU CAN SAY THAT I’M SO HOT ABOUT CRAB SUMMER 🦀 🦀) Cry See you at 3pm, my time- swipe to find your time zone ✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿 (Also, for the rest of my life, I can’t remember who took this picture- if it was you, hit me )
