LONDON — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson clung to power at Downing Street on Wednesday night, refusing to quit after an extraordinary row with his Conservative Party that saw a wave of ministers resign and members of his own cabinet begged him to resign.

On a hectic day in Britain’s Parliament, Mr Johnson was trying to weather a rebellion as a long line of Conservative Party lawmakers said they no longer had faith in the Prime Minister following a spate of scandals and questions about the integrity of the British leader.
