Boy, 9, missing in Glasgow after vanishing from busy west end street in his slippers as police launch frantic search

Police have launched an urgent search for a nine-year-old boy who disappeared down a Scottish street today.

Abubakar Bendu was last seen around 12pm on Byres Road, Glasgow.

Officials are now appealing to the public to help find him.

He is described as approximately four feet tall, with short black hair, and wore a red Superman top, black pants, and black slippers.

Sergeant Dean Shankie said: “Concerns are growing for Abubakarr and it is important that we locate him as soon as possible to ensure he is well and safe.”

“I am asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch with us immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on number 101 quoting reference number 2007 dated Sunday 20th August 2023.
