Meanwhile, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H recently announced that WWE Night of Champions will mark the return of the World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns’ holding of the WWE Universal Undisputed championship led to this decision and the new champion will be crowned in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27.
WWE has announced a 12-man tournament that will kick off on RAW Monday Night tonight for the world heavyweight championship.
For red brand Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, The Miz, Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura will participate. Meanwhile, on Friday night, Edge, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio and Sheamus will be participating.
Two three-threat matchups will take place in each show with the winners of each facing off against each other later that night. The winners of their second bout will then earn their spot at WWE Night Of Champions, where the winner will be crowned the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Cody Rhodes is participating in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Brock Lesnar did not participate in the tournament, but he showed his presence in matches where he was not registered before. We’ll see how it goes.
