Just over 100 days until the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Brazil unveiled the kits they will wear in Qatar.
That Seleca – No. 1 in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking and on the lookout for a record-bending sixth World Cup and their first in 20 years – will certainly play the part as they head into the tournament with a stunning pair of kits.
At first glance, the design of the home kit looks like the traditional Brazil kit down to the last detail, with the famous yellow kit decorated with tasteful splashes of blue and green.
A closer look, however, reveals that the fabric itself is speckled with an unusual print pattern inspired by the fur of the jaguar – America’s largest cat species.
The jaguar — the third-largest cat in the world after tigers and lions — is one of the Amazon’s most recognizable animals, with its distinctive coat dotted with dark spots and rosettes.

As such, Manufacturer Nike say that the “vibrant, wild” jersey is “inspired by the unstoppable determination” of the more than 200 million people who live in the South American nation.
While the yellow home shirt features the Jaguar motif in a subtle relief print, the pattern is all the more vibrant on the blue away shirt, where the graphic is rendered in a striking shade of green on the sleeves.
The two kits proved an instant hit with Brazilian players traveling to Qatar 2022, with Richarlison full of praise for the new national kit.
“Beautiful, wonderful, the most beautiful thing in the world,” the Tottenham Hotspur striker told Globo.
“There’s nothing more beautiful in the world than wearing the jersey of the Brazilian team. It’s what scares opponents and now that the World Cup is coming, it gives butterflies in the stomach.”
Brazil start their World Cup season against Serbia on November 24 before meeting fellow Group G opponents Switzerland and Cameroon on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
