The announcement of Viggo’s name seemed to have a mixed reception from show audiences, while many Britain’s Got Talent viewers at home were left furious at the result.

Viggo’s last performance was when he danced across the stage in a safety vest to the Daft Punk hit “One More Time” and climbed into a balloon that covered his entire body.

Many felt it didn’t show as much talent as other artists, such as dancer Malakai Bayoh and young singer Musa Motha.

Taking to Twitter, one raged: “I can’t believe it! #CancelBGT #BGT #BGT2023 #BGTFinal #BritainsGotTalent @BGT.”

Another added: “Malakai Lillian the kids were mugged by an unfunny ‘comedian’ and a dumb haired idiot.”

A third tweeted: “Well this is the last BGT series ever. How ridiculous was the winner compared to the quality of the other finalists. The voting system must have been hacked…”

Meanwhile, another fumed: “What an absolute joke of a finale! If it wasn’t bad enough for a man in his pants to do an idiot as he prances across the stage, then an idiot in a safety vest wins.”

“I just can’t believe people voted that I wouldn’t call this a talent!??”

Another angry viewer asked: “Is this a joke? What a lot…”[angry face emoji] The true talent has missed a lot here! Disgusting!”

However, others were delighted with the joyful, frivolous nature of Viggo’s performance, with one writing: “Congratulations to @ViggoVenn, a well deserved winner, the others didn’t stand a chance.”

Another wrote: “You want more! Worthy winner @ViggoVenn.”

A third tweeted: “YES @ViggoVenn 100% deserved! I already have the opportunity to book tickets for your Edinburgh Fringe show! Literally made Britain smile like that!! Absolute legend!”

Meanwhile, a fourth shared: “I called it that the other day! Viggo Venn is a deserved winner because he brings pure joy to the theater and still keeps going when it’s not necessary. How Malakai didn’t make the top three, however, I’ll never know.”
