Broad Street Run 2023 lottery registration is now open for Philadelphia runners

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Registration for this year’s Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run is now open.

The lottery for one of the 40,000 seats opened on Wednesday at 00:01.

Runners will be notified of their lottery status during the week of February 19th.

The 10-mile race is taking place a week earlier than usual this year, on Sunday April 30th.

This year’s race has reached its full number of participants for the first time since the pandemic began.

Race organizers also said the pandemic restrictions are over.

You do not have to show proof of vaccination or wear a mask at the start.

The finish line also changes.

This year’s race finishes at the K Lot near Lincoln Financial Field.

Organizers say children’s events and post-race activities will return this year, and families are welcome at the finish line.

There will be no virtual racing option for 2023.
