Buffalo Bills OT Rodger Saffold injured in car crash, starts camp on NFI list

PITTSFORD, NY — Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Rodger Saffold is opening training camp on the non-football injury list after injuring his ribs in a car accident.

Trainer Sean McDermott gave the status of Saffold ahead of Sunday’s first practice session at training camp and said the crash had happened in recent weeks. Saffold, 34, attended the opening session.

Cornerback Tre’Davious White starts camp on the physically incapable list as he continues to make his way back from a cruciate ligament tear he sustained on Thanksgiving. McDermott said White is staying on schedule with his rehab. Defensive lineman Eli Ankou and offensive lineman Ike Boettger (Achilles) are also on the PUP list.

Safety Jordan Poyer was in attendance and attended despite requesting a contract extension through his agent Drew Rosenhaus during the offseason.
