Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis questionable for vs. Tennessee Titans with ankle injury

ORCHARD PARK, NY — Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis is officially questionable for Monday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury. Davis was a new addition to the team’s injury record after being restricted in practice on Saturday.

Davis trained the rest of the week and warmed up normally with the team at the start of Saturday’s session. The Bills’ No. 2 wide receiver caught four passes for 88 yards and a touchdown in the team’s 31-10 win in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. The third-year receiver is taking on a bigger role this year, and while the offense has many potent weapons, his absence against the Titans on Monday Night Football (ESPN, 7:15 p.m. ET) would be significant.

While Davis’ status is in question, the Bills will be without defensive tackle Ed Oliver (ankle) against the Titans. He sustained the injury in the game against the Rams and did not practice all week. The former first-round pick is a key part of the Bills defensive line, and the unit will also likely be without defensive tackle Tim Settle (Wade), who is doubtful for the game and was limited in practice Saturday.

“I could do whatever they wanted me to do,” Settle said after Saturday’s practice session. “I only take steps. I feel like we’re at the bottom of the steps. I’m feeling good, I’ve made good progress this week and I’m happy with how far I’ve come.

“…I don’t know what their plan is, but I’ll be ready when they need me to be ready.”

This game is not ideal for the Bills as they are without a few defensive tackles with running back Derrick Henry coming to Highmark Stadium. Last year against Buffalo, Henry rushed for 143 yards with 20 carries and had three touchdowns including a 76-yard run. Against the Rams in Week 1, the Bills gave up 52 yards on the ground.

Cornerback Dane Jackson (knee) is also listed as a doubt for the game, but trained fully on Friday. The 2020 seventh-round pick expressed optimism after training in the locker room that he would be good for the game after suffering an injury during 1v1 practice sessions.

“I came down and my knee kind of buckled. Nothing important, no tears or anything,” Jackson said. “Just in case, good to be out there today.”
