DETROIT (AP) – Miguel Cabrera boomed his 505th home game, Tarik Skubal equaled the peak of his career with 11 goals, and the Detroit Tigers completed their first series of the season by beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 on Sunday.
Cabrera had two hits, scoring two runs and two more kills for the Tigers, which went on to win three in a row. Harold Castro added three hits, one recorded run, and two RBIs.

Skubal (3-2) lasted six rounds, limiting Baltimore to three hits and two walks.
Trey Mancini’s push against Rony Garcia in season nine prevented Orioles from being eliminated in the fighting matches. Baltimore warm-up player Tyler Wells (1-3) allows three runs on eight hits in four plus innings.
Cabrera gave Detroit a 1-0 lead in the second minute as the Wells kicked the ball quickly 0-1 in the center left wall. The Tigers added another inning run on Castro’s RBI single.
The Tigers took a three-way lead in the third inning. Javier Báez scored a brace once, advanced in a singles game on the pitch and scored on Cabrera’s sacrificial fly-in.
Barnhart sang a single in season seven and Castro added an RBI single in season eight.

Tigers RHP Michael Pineda is on the 15-day injury list with a broken right middle finger. Pineda was hit by a driveway at the start on Saturday.

Orioles: SS Jorge Mateo was ruled out for a pinch in the fourth round due to rib cage pain. He collided with Detroit 1B Spencer Torkelson in the second inning. … OF Austin Hays (hand) was not in the line-up for the third consecutive game.
Tigers: OF Victor Reyes, who was recovered from the injury list 10 days before the game after recovering from a left quadriceps strain, was eliminated in the second round with a right quadriceps strain. … RF Austin Meadows, who was battling an inner ear infection, started after the first round.
Orioles: RHP Kyle Bradish (1-1, 4.24 ERA) will start against the New York Yankees on Monday when Baltimore opens a seven-game house. The rookie had his first major league win on Tuesday, going 11 out of seven at St. Louis.

Tigers: RHP Alex Faedo (0-1, 3.60 ERA) will begin the three-match series opener at Tampa Bay on Monday. The rookie made two starts, including a five-round match against Oakland on Tuesday, in which he dropped two rounds and beat seven.
