Cardi B on “Hot Ones”: “I love FDR”

Cardi B literally didn’t let that stop her from being in the hot seat.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper is the latest celebrity to perform “Name is.” The popular YouTube show has gained a large audience and often leaves guests completely speechless after eating hot wings that become increasingly spicier as the interview progresses.

Sean Evans, the show’s host, asked Cardi B questions about her personal life, her new music and who she looks to for inspiration.

She discussed “Bongos,” her new song, with Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper said when she first heard the song’s beat, she knew people could dance to it.

“‘Bongos’ just has a theme where you can listen to tropical music, beach, pool party,” said Cardi B. “How do we make the beach luxurious? And that’s exactly what we do, darling.”

Evans also referenced Cardi B’s 2019 “73 Questions” interview with Vogue, in which she noted that she wasn’t asked enough about current events by asking her about UFOs Aliens.

Cardi B didn’t hold back.

“I really don’t think aliens are real,” she said. “So if aliens exist and they’re smarter than us, then I understand why they just haven’t invaded us.”

Cardi B struggled with hotness throughout the interview, frequently reaching for her glass of milk and bowl of ice cream.

“I feel like my tongue is drunk,” she said. “I try to say something and it’s like I can’t even concentrate.”

One of the highlights of Evans and Cardi B’s conversation was her revealing her obsession with President Franking D. Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

“If anyone loves me and knows me, then I love FDR,” Cardi B said.

“I saw the room where Churchill and FDR talked about the atomic bomb,” she later added. “This is crazy to me! I’m really here!”
