Cassidy considers possible rematch with Freeway

Cassidy doesn’t think he’ll be taking on battle rapper Freeway any time soon.

A rematch between the two was scheduled for last year. Their original fight was in 2001.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen. It was connected to the URL, Smack and them,” he said. “They locked it up. You set it up. They’ve got some little issues with execution, so I don’t necessarily think it’s going to go down,” he told DLG. “I mean I’m ready even if they want to do it tomorrow. We could do it and make it happen, but I’m not sure if it’s going to go down or not.

Cassidy says he sees no point in a rematch after all these years.

“So I want to leave it at that. I didn’t think fighting Free again was the best idea because of that story and that old bond that’s set in stone. To try to relive that 20 years later, what would be the point?”

He added, “I know a lot of people would be interested in it and it would draw a lot of eyes that wouldn’t normally see battle rap, but I don’t think it would be that good a battle.”

Is he right?
