Celtic ‘working on’ Carl Starfelt replacement already with offer that could break current club’s record transfer sale

CELTIC wastes no time finding a replacement for Carl Starfelt.
The Sweden defender is close to a move to Celta Vigo in Spain.
SunSport informed you last week that Starfelt, 26, was facing a surprise departure after just two seasons at Celtic since joining from Rubin Kazan.
Manager Brendan Rodgers revealed at the weekend that the centre-back is considering a move from Glasgow, citing personal reasons as a motivating factor.
Rodgers also hinted that the Parkhead club would sign another centre-back in the wake of Starfelt’s imminent departure, despite the recent signing of Maik Nawrocki.
According to reports from Sweden, the Hoops travel to Starfelt’s homeland to retrieve his replacement.

quickdraws report that 23-year-old Gustaf Lagerbielke is her husband and that they worked hard on the deal.
It is said the Celts have made the defender an offer of around £3million – which would be a record sale for his current club Elfsborg.
Lagerbielke made his debut for Sweden this year and has been one of the standout players in the country’s top flight so far this season.
Rodgers spoke about Starfelt after the 4-2 win over Ross County after giving him a 25-minute cameo as a substitute.
He said: “I wanted to use Carl Starfelt (against Ross County), it could be his last appearance here.
“There is interest in him and he wants to take that opportunity.
“We will resolve this as soon as possible. I thought it would be nice for him to maybe get one last appearance at Celtic Park.
“The clubs are in communication. I’m sure that will happen early next week if not sooner.
“Obviously, he probably felt like it was time to move on.
“I have to say he was really respectful and enjoyed the time here.
“There are obviously certain conditions that he has been thinking about in order to move to one of the top divisions.
“Economically, it’s difficult to keep up on that side and obviously his partner isn’t here anymore and has moved on.

“So there are a number of reasons why he would like to continue.”
Starfelt’s girlfriend Jacynta Galabadaarachchi left the Celtic women’s team this summer and it is believed that played a role in the treble winner’s mindset.
