Chadwick Boseman’s Widow & Parents Split Actor’s Estate . . . 1/3 To Wife 1/3 To Parents 1/3 To LAWYERS!!

Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman died without a will two years ago after a long battle with cancer. Now, Media Take Out has confirmed that his family has decided to split his fortune three ways, with a third of Chadwick’s wealth going to lawyers and tax collectors.

The estate was held up in court and yesterday the court released the final settlement filed by Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, who has been hired to handle the estate.

According to Taylor, the total asset value of Chadwick’s estate in the legal documents filed by Media Take Out in court is $3,881,758.31. That amount includes over $230,000 in arrears since his death.

The Black Panther actor battled colon cancer for four years and even underwent chemotherapy while filming until his death. He passed away on August 28th, 2020.

But Taylor and the family have spent a significant amount of money since Chadwick’s death.

Taylor asked for reimbursement of funeral expenses, which included $9,500 for the venue, an additional $10,000 for the funeral service, and $1,275 for the flowers.

Taylor also sought reimbursement of $7,495 for a mausoleum crypt at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina. She also spent $22,000 to purchase mausoleum crypts for Boseman’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn, to be laid next to him.

The estate also owes a tax bill related to Boseman’s business, Chadwick Boseman, Inc. The amount owed is $51,000.

Taylor’s death, the court said the estate was currently valued at $2.5 million with $157,000 in cash. Another $900,000 was withheld as bail in the probate proceedings. After all the bills, including large legal bills, are paid, the estate is worth just $2.3 million.

Taylor asked the court to approve the estate, which splits 50% of the $2.3 million to her and the other half to Boseman’s parents, or $1.15 million each.

That leaves about $1.5 million for court fees, attorneys, and taxes. Media Take Out confirmed that had Chadwick had had a will, he could have avoided paying those huge legal fees.
