Channel 5’s iconic TV show returns to screens after 19 years – and we take our first look at the series that will replace it
CHANNEL 5 has axed an iconic TV show after 19 years on screen and shared a first look at the new series that replaces it.
The channel has removed popular tech series The Gadget Show from its schedule.

The series, which first premiered in 2004, saw several hosts try out the latest technology.
However, after 19 years on screens, Channel 5 has dropped the format.
Instead, it was replaced with a brand new show called “Shop Smart, Save Money.”
Angellica Bell has joined the new show alongside former Gadget Show hosts Ortis Deley, Georgie Barrat and Jon Bentley.
Viewers will see Angellica and Ortis bring a family along for their shore vacation each week.
There the two moderators advise you on the best products to buy that will enable you to live a better life.
The show begins on Friday, September 26th at 7 p.m.
Earlier this year, Channel 5 gave The Gadget Show a brand new name – The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money.
At the time it sparked a backlash from loyal fans and forced bosses to make a statement.
It said: “Whilst the latest series has proven popular, we recognize that there has been some negative feedback regarding the recent format change.”
“We understand that change is sometimes met with mixed reactions and we are pleased with the feedback we have received from our viewers.
“The decision to move to The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money was made to reach the widest possible audience while providing valuable insights and recommendations in the field of technology.
“The world of gadgets is constantly evolving and we want to ensure our content remains relevant and valuable to a wide audience.
“Our goal is to find a balance that appeals to a diverse audience while staying true to our mission of providing valuable and engaging content in the world of technology.”
They added that fans could continue to enjoy the older format by watching classic episodes from 2004 on their YouTube channel.
