Chargers’ Rashawn Slater to miss season with biceps injury

The Chargers’ fears came true Monday morning when tests revealed left tackle Rashawn Slater suffered a left bicep tear and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Slater, a Pro Bowler as a rookie in 2021, was injured in a 38-10 loss to Jacksonville at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

After Slater left the game, swing tackle Storm Norton replaced him. Norton fought the Jaguars as the Chargers struggled to protect Justin Herbert.

The Chargers were already dealing with a significant loss on their offensive line as Pro Bowl center Corey Linsley missed the final game and a half with a knee injury.

The wear and tear down the front comes as Herbert struggles with a rib cartilage injury that hampered his performance against Jacksonville.

The Chargers could also face the long-term loss of wide receiver Jalen Guyton, who injured his knee on Sunday.

Edge rusher Joey Bosa left the game in the first half after injuring his groin. Early indications were that Bosa’s injury is not as serious as the others but he is expected to be out for some time.
