Chelsea fans lose their minds as club legend RETURNS in Lavia announcement video and beg him to ‘sign one-year deal’

CHELSEA fans exploded with joy as legend Eden Hazard starred in the announcement video confirming Romeo Lavia’s arrival.

The Belgium international, 19, today sealed his £58m transfer from Southampton to Stamford Bridge.

Lavia is the second midfielder Chelsea have signed from under Liverpool’s noses in a week after Moises Caicedo’s move for a British record fee of £115million.

The move now means Chelsea have spent £956.8m on new talent since the arrival of Todd Boehly last year.

Lavia only made the move to Southampton from Manchester City last summer but still managed to shine in an otherwise disappointing season when the Saints were relegated.

Now he’s hoping to get the Blues back in the title hunt – and he has the full support of his compatriot and a modern-day Stamford Bridge icon.

Hazard, 32, is currently a free agent but joined Chelsea in 2012 and is considered one of the club’s most talented players.

He won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup twice, the League Cup and the Europa League, scoring 110 goals in 352 games before joining Real Madrid in 2019.

And shortly after Chelsea confirmed Lavia’s arrival, they released a clip showing the new boy Facetiming Hazard, sharing the entire conversation.

Lavia hails Hazard as ‘the big boss’ before his compatriot asks: ‘are you a blue now or what?’

Lavia replied, “Yes, I’m getting to know your old apartment.”

“Are you in Cobham?” Hazard asked him.

Lavia then confirms he’s looking around Chelsea HQ, to which Hazard replies: ‘Congratulations. You’re with a good club.”

Lavia continues the conversation with: “You have a great reputation here and that immediately puts pressure on me.”

Hazard then goes on to say to Lavia: “Last year it wasn’t very good for Chelsea but this year it will be calmer.

“There are many things that have changed. Don’t worry, you’ll get a chance to show what you can do.

“We know what qualities you have. As a Belgian, it will work out well.”

Fans immediately responded to the clip with sheer delight at seeing their former hero as Twitter exploded.

One tweeted: “Wait, is Eden Hazard in the Lavia announcement video?”

Another replied: “A call with a legend.”

“Romeo Lavia calls Eden Hazard. This is really beautiful,” commented another.

Another tweet read: “The Goat Hazard and new boy Lavia.”

While another called Hazard “my bloody goat!”

And another even begged the playmaker to return to the club himself “and sign a one-year deal”.
