Chrissy Teigen Gives Update After First Colonoscopy: ‘Wish It Lasted Longer’

Chrissy Teigen takes her gut health seriously — and she thinks her fans should too.
The former model, 37, shared on Wednesday that her first colonoscopy went well but went a little too quickly for the mother-of-four.
“I just woke up from my colonoscopy and I feel great, but it took about 20 minutes. I honestly wish it lasted longer because it was a good nap,” Teigen said, updating fans Instagram video out of her hospital bed just an hour after she posted a pre-procedure selfie with the caption, “Time 2 look at that ass.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)From the age of 45, people should have regular examinations for colon cancer every ten years. However, they also recommended earlier and more frequent check-ups.
Teigen’s procedure comes just days after cravings The cookbook author shared that the colonoscopy is her first – adding how important it is for more people to make the procedure a routine.
“Soon there’s going to be a very big increase in people my age and even a little younger getting colon cancer because we don’t get screened,” she said. “And we’re not checked because we’re not told. You think your parents are the ones being checked.”

“I’m having my first colonoscopy tomorrow because my doctor told me that people are getting younger and they should be getting their exams earlier and earlier,” Teigen continued.
She added that there are misunderstandings when it comes to the highly recommended procedure, and argued that preparing for a colonoscopy shouldn’t discourage people from getting examined.
“One thing you always hear about is that crazy drink you have to drink the night before,” said Teigen. “It’s very intense and [there’s] Cramps. And of course you have to be prepared to have a camera up your butt.”

“But now it can be pills. Now I have to take these pills, a sip of water after each pill, and then a huge amount of water,” she concluded.
Within hours of Teigen’s procedure, she returned to her daily routine and shared a Instagram story video of her and her daughter Luna preparing to fill pink boxes with assorted treats and Barbie dolls.
“We LOVE a goodie bag,” she captioned the video.
