Christie Brinkley hits back after criticism of new selfie on Wrinkle Brigade
The model called out those who “scan the sides of celebrities hoping to find cellulite, wrinkles or anything else they might criticize” after she was insulted over her latest selfie.
Christie Brinkley can’t be amused with the trolls in her latest Instagram post.
After the 69-year-old model posted a selfie She was met with a plethora of negative comments about her appearance on Wednesday’s platform. One read: “Did you use your wand today? I guess maybe not” – while another follower wrote: “That’s not her. She doesn’t look like it. She most definitely doesn’t have black chest hair.”
Others left comments about fillers and botox.
Although she simply captioned the photos “Downtown Girl” — a reference to her ex-husband Billy Joel’s song “Uptown Girl” — she later changed that to appeal to her haters.

“Hey, Nelly!” Brinkley wrote. “The Wrinkle Brigade is in full swing in the comments thread!”
“They’re the people who scour celebrity sites hoping to find cellulite or wrinkles or anything else to critique,” she continued. “It has to be some kind of compensation for something they lack.”
Brinkley also took a moment in her comments to thank fans who have nice things to say.
“There are others who are emerging with such kind and valuable messages. These are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing!” she said. Addressing one of the above comments, she added: “PS: I obviously don’t have any hair on my chest. But what if I had some?”
Since she changed the caption, many of her fans have jumped to her defense, praising her for not using filters on the selfie and criticizing those who “hide behind their social media profiles to say something offensive.”
One fan added that one of the reasons Brinkley is “going to be one of the most famous beauties in the world” is her “kindness,” calling that trait the model’s “biggest beauty secret.” Christie was clearly a fan of this point of view, responding by writing, “I absolutely love what you just wrote. It’s a recipe for aging gracefully and finding true happiness too! And it’s written in the most charming way!”
Brinkley has been open about using fillers in the past and recently shared a video of a laser treatment she received from her dermatologist.
