CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will undergo appendix surgery, a source confirmed to ESPN.
A timeline for the trial remains unclear but is likely to be available within the next 48 hours, according to a source familiar with the trial.
NFL Network was the first to break news of Burrow’s upcoming trial.
The Cincinnati veterans said they would practice Tuesday ahead of the first official practice session at training camp on Wednesday.
The medical situation comes during the acclimatization period of the training camp. According to the collective agreement between the league and the players’ union, teams are not allowed to have line contact during the first five days of camp.
Cincinnati has made its first appearance in the AFC Championship and Super Bowl in 33 seasons. Last year, Burrow completed 70.4% of his passes for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
