Classes canceled at L.A. City College after fatal stabbing

The Los Angeles City College campus was closed and in-person classes canceled Monday night following a fatal stabbing, authorities said.
According to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded at 2:06 p.m. on the 800 block of North Heliotrope Drive. The stabbed victim, described only as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s department did not provide a description of the suspect, who remained at large Monday night.
City College officials described the suspect as black; about 5 feet, 7 inches tall; 160 pounds; and was wearing a black shirt, white shorts, black jacket and blue shoes, loud a tweet.
In-person classes have been canceled, but online classes were scheduled to resume Monday night, college officials said.
“The campus is still on lockdown,” the college said a tweet just after 5 p.m “Accommodation available if you are on campus. Otherwise stay off campus.”
