Classic 80s Ford Escort RS Turbo kept by same owner for over 35 years sells for more than FOUR times its original price

A classic 1980’s Ford Escort RS Turbo, owned by the same owner for over 35 years, has sold at auction for a whopping FOUR times its original price.
The 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo, which had just 37,000 miles on the clock, ended up going under the hammer for the incredible sum of £41,625.
This example was bought new by the seller to be driven by his mother and has remained in sole ownership throughout his life.
The RS Turbo was only available in diamond white – with the exception of a special one-off black example made for the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
The new owner should find it fast enough – its 132hp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine helps it accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 128km/h.
H&H classicwho handled the sale, explained: “The Escort was only used on site during the seller’s mother’s time and never in inclement weather. It is understood to have never left Norfolk since acquisition and has always been stored below decks.”
“When he gave up driving in 2005, ‘C262 DAH’ was stored until it was dug up by the seller in 2012 after the death of his mother.
“After being put back into service and MOT tested, the Ford has since been used very sparingly and has clocked up less than 100 miles.”
This comes after an incredible collection of Guinness family cars was auctioned off.
Also up for sale is an extremely rare 70-year-old luxury Shooting Brake car with an estimated value of £40,000.
