Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega break their silence regarding missing AEW Double or Nothing 2022

AEW star Kenny Omega will miss out on a pay-per-view opportunity for Double or Nothing 2022. His former colleague and current WWE star, Cody Rhodes, will not be participating in PPV.

Earlier this year, The American Nightmare left AEW and returned to WWE. Meanwhile, Omega has been sidelined and dealt with many injury problems since the Full Gear event in 2021.

Taking to Twitter, one fan expressed her disappointment that both Omega and Rhodes are missing DoN. American Nightmare responded by stating that he is currently preparing for Hell in his cell but also reflected on his past performances by writing:

I’ve got cross chairs to stay in Hell in the Cell, but I’m sure it would be fine without me. I left a lot of love (and blood) soaked in that picture. So proud of that chapter.

Omega also admits that he will appear at Double or Nothing in spirits or via satellites. The former AEW world champion hilariously wrote the following:

I’ll be there in spirit or watching over the satellite uplink somewhere, (if that counts?).

Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes’ respective matches at previous Double or Nothing shows

Throughout the years, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes have been an integral part of pay-per-view movies.

In 2019, AEW hosted their first DoN show, which featured an incredible match between Cody and his brother Dustin Rhodes. The show is headed by Omega and Chris Jericho.

In 2020, Cody was once again featured in a climactic match at Double or Nothing, when he defeated Lance Archer to become the first TNT Champion. Meanwhile Omega teamed up with The Elite to defeat The Inner Circle in a match at Stampede Stadium.

In 2021, Rhodes competed in his last DoN show, where he defeated Anthony Ogogo in their fierce feud. Omega, meanwhile, won the AEW world championship in a triple-threat match against Orange Cassidy and PAC.
