College Football Playoff picks after Week 10

We knew we were going to lose either Georgia or Tennessee from the list of six remaining undefeated teams earlier in the week. The question after Saturday’s game between the Bulldogs and Vols was how it would affect the loser.

Turns out, Georgia’s 27-13 win was enough to keep Tennessee out of all but one ESPN vote. The Georgia defense held Tennessee without a first-half touchdown for the first time since 2020. The Dawgs surpassed a team that came into the game with a plus 173-point lead in the first half of this season, best in FBS, 24-6 before halftime. Georgia came into the game with 10 sacks this season, the fewest in the SEC. The Bulldogs have sacked Hendon Hooker six times and tormented the Heisman favorite all night.

Elsewhere, Ohio state survived a scare in the Northwest, where winds exceeding 45 miles per hour derailed all offensive efforts. The Buckeyes failed to convert any of their eight third-down opportunities in the first half, and quarterback CJ Stroud only had 76 passing yards for the game. However, his career-best 79 rushing yards proved pivotal in a 21-7 win.

Michigan and TCU also remained undefeated, parting ways with Rutgers and Texas Tech respectively in the second half. The Horned Frogs are now a unanimous choice among ESPN voters for the first time this season.

With that in mind, here’s how ESPN’s college football reporters view the current playoff picture.
