Anyone who’s ever been a bridesmaid knows it’s a lot of hard work. Of course there are the fabulous parts, like seeing your best friend celebrate love, getting back together with your best friends and partying the night away at a fabulous venue. But there are also plenty of early mornings, photo ops on your feet and making sure everything goes smoothly for the bride-to-be. Needless to say, you need a strong AF pair of heels to get you through the day, and let me tell you that being a bridesmaid isn’t the time to don this pair that’s featured on Instagram -Photos looks great but sends you limping in pain 30 minutes after putting it on.

First, there are a few things I look for when shopping for heels that will last all day. They must have an even platform, meaning there is a platform part that rests under the toes. All fashionistas know that this is the only shoe design that allows you to stay comfortable while still wearing heels. Second, you need something with some traction on the bottom so you don’t slip and slide down the aisle or on the dance floor. After wearing these Chinese Laundry Heels for 24 hours (okay, from 10am to 12pm!), I’m convinced that bridesmaid shoes can actually be comfortable.

For my recent bridesmaid effort, the bride requested that we all wear nude shoes, and I found the perfect shade in these strappy platform shoes from Chinese Laundry. Although the shade is listed as a dark nude on the website, I definitely found it neutral enough for my olive complexion. These heels also come in four other shades including pink, black, red, and grey. They run true to size and I took my normal size in these. If you’re concerned about the width of the ankle strap, the strap is fully adjustable so you can make it as tight or as loose as you like.

Buyers who reviewed this style definitely shared my opinion on how comfortable these heels are. “If you are looking for the most comfortable heeled shoe, buy this one,” wrote one shopper. “You’ve seen the bars, clubs, weddings, dinners, brunches, etc.,” they added. “I would wear them with anything because I love height and my feet have never hurt like many of my other heels.”

I have to say I have to agree. I wore them with a rust/copper bridesmaid dress and they were absolutely perfect. I loved the faux suede look of my Theresa heels, but if you want something with a more patent finish there are many options, like this Go On block heel sandal, which comes in nude, black, and white.

I even brought sneakers to the wedding to turn into “when my feet started hurting,” but that never happened. I carried these babies all night without any discomfort. Also, most bridesmaid dresses (when purchased from a bridal boutique) are super long, and these platform styles will help you avoid an expensive trip to the tailor. It’s seriously a win-win situation no matter how you look at it. Comfortable Bridesmaid Heels Are Hard to Find, But I Cracked the Code
