Community members, Santa spread holiday cheer at Nemours Children’s Hospital

WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) — It’s time to spread some Christmas cheer – especially among the children, their families and the staff at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington.

“Just making that little connection with the community and looking out the window and seeing a light means a lot to our families right now,” said Sara Narimanian, Child Life Program Coordinator at Nemours.

Light at a time when they need it most. The DeSantis family knows firsthand what that means for the kids.

Dozens of cars, jeeps, police vehicles, fire engines and many more took part.

“It’s good for the kids who are in this hospital right now and they may not be coming home for Christmas. It makes me emotional, I’m sorry,” said Maricia Snavely.

Everything adorned from bumper to bumper, inflatable boats and even the Grinch came out to make a difference.

“The nurses will be smiling at the window. We had her say that if we come through, you’ll see her cry just because it means someone cares,” Narimanian said.
