Police have launched an investigation after a man died suddenly on a Scottish country road.

The tragedy happened this evening on the Cairn O’Mount Road near Fettercairn in Aberdeenshire.

After the tragic incident, the police were called to the scene of the accident and blocked the road.

Officers closed the B974 as they began their investigation.

A police spokesman confirmed that the road was closed in both directions.

The public has also been urged to avoid the area.

“The B974 remains closed in both directions between Fettercairn and Cairn O’Mount.

“The public is asked to avoid the area at this time.”
