Viewers know he’s already killed Lion and Teddy Thompkins and Rufus Donahue in cold blood.

He can now be seen in the back seat of Tim Metcalfe’s cab before something happens that startles Tim and he pulls over and flees.

Stephen gives chase and tracks Tim to a wasteland where a fight breaks out.

In harrowing images, Stephen gets the upper hand and puts a cable around Tim’s neck.

Will Tim Stephens survive brutal murder attempt? Or will he be the fourth victim of the madman on the cobblestones?

A source said: “Stephen believes he has gotten away with all his murders and misdeeds.

“He thinks he’s unstoppable and has no problem killing anyone who gets in his way, but has he finally found his opponent?”

“These will be explosive scenes that will air later this year and will change the pavement forever.”

Earlier this year Coronation Street boss Iain Macleod teased Stephens compensation.

When asked if Stephen would be caught, he said: “Of course he will be caught.”

“It’s a soap opera, the bad guys always get their punishment in the end, don’t they? So yes, 100%. There will be a lot of fun until then, I have to say.
