glee star Cory Monteith According to several of his former co-stars, the entire cast once suffered a sinus infection after they all played spin the bottle together.
In the Thursday episode of Kevin McHale And Jenna Ushkowitz podcast, And this is what you REALLY missed The two joined Ashley Fink and spilled the tea over the time her group of “bored kids” was kept busy while the cast were “trapped in the hotel” on tour.
“We ended up all just a little drunk after all, and Zach [Woodlee] had finally arrived there and darren [Criss] “I jammed with the Warblers and now he’s finally done it,” said Fink, who played Lauren Zizes on the series. “And we all say, ‘Let’s all play spin the bottle because we’re not grown-‘ UPS. However, their fun little game took a less than happy turn when Fink revealed that Monteith was “patient zero” with a sinus infection, leading to the rest of the cast falling ill ahead of their UK tour.
“We’ve all flown across the country with a sinus infection,” Fink continued. “We all had to land and get B-12 shots and antibiotics because we were insanely ill because we idiots were all making out with each other before we had to fly across the country.”
McHale admitted he had no idea Monteith was the source of the “contagion,” while Ushkowitz had no recollection of the incident at all. However, McHale added that the cast playing “genderblind” was spinning the bottle “all the time.”
“It was a very special night,” McHale continued. “That was hilarious. I won’t say who Cory had to kiss but I just remember seeing his face and it was so cute. I remember thinking, ‘I have to capture this. This is hilarious and wonderful.’ “
“We love each other so much, it was like, ‘Our friends are so hot,'” he concluded. “And why not?”
Monteith died of an accidental drug overdose in 2013 while the show was still on the air. Despite all the tragedy surrounding the series, both McHale and Ushkowitz have said in the past that they hope their podcast will shed light on the many positive moments they’ve experienced during their time on the Fox series.
