Brenda, Jake Flint’s wife, wrote in a heartbreaking post: “We were supposed to go through the wedding photos but instead I had to choose the clothes to bury my husband in.”
WASHINGTON — Country singer Jake Flint died suddenly on Sunday, just hours after his wedding, according to family and friends.
The Oklahoma singer-songwriter married his wife Brenda on Saturday and later died in his sleep, his longtime journalist confirmed to The Oklahoman. He was 37.
Brenda, Flint’s wife, wrote in a Facebook post: “We were supposed to go through the wedding photos but instead I had to choose the clothes to bury my husband in.” “People shouldn’t feel pain like this. My heart is lost and I really need him back. I can’t take it anymore. I need him here.”
Brenda Flint also shared a video of herself and Jake dancing together during their wedding photo shoot, just hours before his death with the message “I don’t understand”.
Cause of death has not been announced.
The singer’s former manager, Brenda Cline, wrote on Facebook that he was “the most dedicated, funniest, hardest-working artist I’ve worked with in my career.”
According to his website, Jake Flint lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is the son of a “wild oiler and a hardworking mother of two.” He started composing music after his father was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
He has released four albums, including “I’m Not Okay” in 2016 and an album of the same name in 2020.
Hosty, the one-member band that performed at Flint’s wedding on Saturday, also shared a Facebook clip from the celebration showing Jake with a guitar singing a song for his wife.
