Couple savaged for ‘impressively rude’ detail on their wedding invitation – but can you spot it?

A COUPLE was heavily toasted for the “rude” detail on their wedding invitation – but it may be a moment before you notice.

On Reddit, a guest of the couple shared a snap of what appeared to be an ordinary wedding invitation.

Can you spot the rude detail in this wedding invitation?

Printed on a traditional lace-printed card, it included details of the date, time, location and the fact that the couple are registered with Bed, Bath & Beyond.

While it may seem completely harmless, the recipient showed that she was less than thrilled with the invitation.

In her post, she wrote: “At first glance I was a little put off that not only was it – I’m not kidding – handwritten on a thin piece of cardboard that was folded in half and clipped into an envelope, but it had that register in big, bold letters with permanent marker on the front of the invitation.

“That’s a bad first impression, but then I noticed something.”

The woman went on to say that she was aware they were only invited to the ceremonial portion of the day.

She continued: “We messaged the groom asking if there would be a reception afterwards because the invitation only lists the location of the ceremony.

“He said yes, but we weren’t invited because they couldn’t afford a big gig, so only family and close friends were invited to the reception.

“So they tell us the registration details and want us at the ceremony, but they don’t like us enough to invite us to the reception? It’s over an hour away and the ceremony only 30 minutes.”

She went on to question whether it was unreasonable to consider the invite rude, and many Redditors agreed.

One commented on the post, writing: “This happened to me. I found it extremely sticky. They just want extra gifts and they make it very obvious.”

Another agreed, adding: “That’s impressively rude. You can only invite people to the reception, but not only to the ceremony.

“I would reconsider the friendship.”

“What greedy gifts! Absolutely nothing and definitely rude!” commented a third.
