Crews respond to partial building collapse in Philadelphia’s Logan section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Authorities were responding to a report of a partial collapse of an apartment building in Philadelphia’s Logan neighborhood.

According to the authorities, part of the façade on the 7th floor began to crumble around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

The building’s 50 to 60 residents were evacuated, police said.

A structural engineer and the department for permits and inspections are also on site.

No injuries were reported at this time.

The American Red Cross helps displaced people.

This incident was reported around the same time a building collapsed in the Kensington area.

Firefighters said a three-story townhouse with a pizza shop on the ground floor and apartments above was destroyed on Memphis and York streets.
