Crime Fighters: Who killed William James Sr. at a Philadelphia gas station?

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — In a deadly shooting at a gas station, investigators are looking for tips on how to solve the crime.

The murder happened on Friday February 12, 2021.

William James Sr., 38, was at a gas station at the intersection of 33rd and York Streets in the Strawberry Mansion area of ​​Philadelphia.

Just before 2 p.m., police were called to report a “person with a gun and a hospitalized case.”

When they arrived, they found James suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

“Police took the man to Temple University where he would succumb to his injuries,” said Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission.

James’ family doesn’t know why this happened.

“No motive for it. Everything indicates that this guy was a very decent citizen,” said Montecalvo.

The city of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

“All you have to do is pick up the phone and call 215-546-TIPS, you remain anonymous. Help us solve these crimes.”

To this date, the Citizens Crime Commission has received nearly 500 advisory calls.
