Cristiano Ronaldo forced to miss Al Nassr’s final game of the season but team-mates run riot in his absence

AL-NASSR proved there is life in football beyond Cristiano Ronaldo after going on a rampage in the absence of her talisman.

The 38-year-old Ronaldo was forced to miss the Saudi Arabian club’s final game of the season due to a muscle injury.

The Portuguese legend suffered a setback in their last game against Ettifaq – a 1-1 draw.

However, that didn’t stop Al-Nassr from clinching a 3-0 win over Al Fateh.

Former Benfica and Besiktas star Talisca put the Riyadh-based team ahead with a goal in just four minutes.

It wasn’t until the 66th minute that he scored his second of the game and his 20th of the Saudi Pro League season.

Just six minutes later, the 29-year-old Brazilian set up substitute super Mohammed Maran for the third goal.

Unfortunately, with the title already decided in Al-Ittihad’s favor by five points behind, the win meant little for Ronaldo and Co’s trophy prospects.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr after his contract with Manchester United was terminated after he gave a bombastic interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticized the club and Erik ten Hag.

And since arriving, he’s notched up an impressive 14 goals and two assists in 16 Pro League games.

During the move, he was accompanied by his family, including Georgina Rodriguez.

Ronaldo could soon be joined by fellow Middle East superstar Lionel Messi. A package worth £1billion is reportedly set to be deployed to lure the Argentine.

The reported deal would see Messi, 35, sensationally doubling Ronaldo’s already incredible £173million a year.
