Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said Thursday he will start Sunday against the Detroit Lions after missing the last five games with a broken right thumb.
“That’s me,” he said when asked if he would start the game against the Lions. He added that his thumb feels great.
Prescott had said last Sunday he was planning a return, but the quarterback was definite Thursday that he would return to the starting lineup.
Prescott told reporters he doesn’t have to wear a thumb brace and he hasn’t had any restrictions in training this week.
Prescott broke his thumb in a Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys went 4-1 with Cooper Rush as a starter in Prescott’s absence and are 4-2 on the season in third place in the NFC East.
ESPN’s Todd Archer contributed to this report.
