Dame Dash blames Lyor Cohen for Roc-A-Fella’s breakup

Dame Dash says record executive Lyor Cohen is the reason Jay-Z is no longer his business partner.

“He’s the person who told Jay, ‘I’ll make a deal with you or without Dame Dash or Biggs,’ and he’s the one who told him based on what Steve Stoute told me and based on what, what Irv Gotti told me advised.” Like, “Yo, why would you split it three ways when you could just do it yourself,” Dame said on his podcast.

Lyor was asked about Dame’s comments in an interview with Drink Champs. He disputed Dame’s version of events. “If Lyor was the reason, then they were never really together. “Mic drop,” he said…and Dame agrees.

“I think he’s right, but I think there could have been a more detailed answer. Are you the one who showed this? Did you give him the option? Have you pushed him to make him aware of what he can do and what you would support? Did you give him the idea to do that? Did you go against him and hold meetings behind his back? So when this meeting happened, when Dame shouted, who organized this meeting? It’s a recording of that and how angry I was about the meeting. These are questions that I think should be asked. And people want to know that it’s the elephant in the room, so why ignore it, you know? Why shouldn’t people ask? So that bothers me when Jay comes to an interview and when Lyor comes to an interview and people don’t ask the questions they ask me. If you never ask me this question, everything will be fine. But because you keep asking me these questions. How come they come in front of the camera and you don’t ask them?”
