Danny Masterson victim, social media blast Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis apology video

In response to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ apology video for sending letters of support to the judge before their That ’70s Show co-star was sentenced, one of the victims, Danny Masterson, was convicted of assault.
Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis released a video on Saturday to provide damage control and clarity after it was revealed that the couple had sent letters of support before their meeting That 70’s show co-star Danny Masterson Conviction of two counts of forcible rape.
Now the video itself is sparking even more backlash, including from one of Masterson’s victims. While both women remained anonymous throughout the trial, one of them nevertheless provided a statement obtained by journalist Yashar Ali.

The woman known as Jane Doe #1, also known as Jen B, allegedly wrote, according to a post shared with Ali’s X (formerly Twitter) Account: “This video was incredibly offensive and hurtful. I hope they learn radical responsibility and the importance of self-education to learn when to keep their privilege in check – especially Ashton, who claims to work with victims of sex crimes.” And as for Mila, all I can think of is ” Times Up.”

In their apology video, Kutcher and Kunis stated that it was never their intention to discredit the prosecutors in the case or to oppose the guilty verdict. They said they had been asked by his family to make voluntary statements to plead for mercy before sentencing. Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
“We support the victims,” Kunis said at one point in the apology video. “We have done this through our work in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”
“The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the justice system or the validity of the jury’s decision,” she said. “They were intended for the judge to read. And not to undermine the victims’ statements or re-traumatize them in any way.”

“We would never want to do that. And we’re sorry if that happened,” Kutcher added.
“Our condolences go out to every single person who has ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape,” Kunis concluded her statement.
As noted by TMZMasterson’s 70s Co-stars Kurtwood Smith And Debra Jo Rupp have also submitted letters on Masterson’s behalf, but have not faced the same kind of backlash online. Topher Grace, Laura Prepon And Wilmer Valderrama no letters submitted.
Christina Ricci was one of those apparently aiming for the apology, although she never named names and made a damning indictment against her Instagram stories.

“Sometimes people we loved and admired do terrible things,” she wrote. “Maybe they don’t do these things to us, and we just know who they were to us, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t do these terrible things, and it’s a crime to discredit the abused.”
“People we know as ‘great guys’ can be predators and abusers,” she continued. “It’s hard to accept, but we have to do it. If we say we support victims – women, children, men, boys – then we have to be able to take that stance.”
She continued to talk about her personal experiences on both sides of these “great guys” before concluding her message: “Believe the victims. It’s not easy to reach out. It’s not easy to get a conviction.”
Ricci certainly wasn’t alone in her negative reaction to the discovery of the letters of support or the subsequent apology video. Here’s just a sampling of the reactions on social media. Many believe that the couple is rather sorry that their letters were published.

Here’s to Christina Ricci, who absolutely destroyed Aston Kutcher, and Mila Kunis, who quietly denies that Danny Masterson is a serial rapist (and half-heartedly doesn’t apologize) without ever directly addressing her. A queen. pic.twitter.com/UhfqyXG5eu

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher deeply regret that the character letters they wrote in support of Danny Masterson were made public. And here they have offered the most sincere apology actors can muster on short notice. pic.twitter.com/DspASCvF6V

@StrictlyChristo
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ “apology” for writing their character statements for Danny Masterson was pathetic. They are not sorry for supporting a rapist. Their only regret is that it was made public.

Did you all catch the part of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ “apology” where they say they’re sorry IF?
Yes. Me too.

So emotional about the Ashton Kutcher/Mila Kunis video 🥹 Best example I’ve ever seen of an unprepared, heartfelt apology. When I watched it for the ninth time, tears were streaming down my face 😭

@LaurenFlans
Kutcher Kunis’ “apology” is so symbolic of people who are caught doing things behind the scenes that they assume no one will ever know about, that contradict what they publicly stand for 😒 https://t.co/sj6l8zgeSy

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’s “apology” video is arguably the worst example of PR leads backing away from a script. You defended a convicted serial rapist and got caught. Disgusting.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis can keep their fake apology.
We carry no deceptive energy into 2024.

Imagine Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis making it SO obvious that the only thing they’re sorry about is the fact that their letters became public knowledge. It was so gross that they took turns acting sincere in their obviously scripted apology

@gnsfrhnds
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis would not have apologized if the letters had not been published, leading to an immediate backlash. They apologize for being caught supporting a predator. They would have continued to support and defend him if the public hadn’t seen it.

Kudos to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for their apology and willingness to learn from their past actions. 👏

This so-called apology from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis would have somehow made “sense” if they had written to the judge BEFORE Danny was found guilty… But no, they knew all the details and STILL wrote “Hey, I know him. “Women raped, but he’s a good guy” letters… Oof! https://t.co/C6yVbDgDlU

I’m absolutely amazed by Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’s “apology” video because absolutely nothing they say improves the situation??

I am so disgusted by the “apology” video I just saw from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
So you thought only the judge could read these letters…? And yet you are still on the side of the victims? Which is it?
