DC’s Blue Beetle Movie Reveals New Superhero Suit Looks (Photos)

Xolo Maridueña’s Jaime Reyes will debut this summer Blue Beetleand a new look at his suit was revealed.

Fans caught the first glimpse of the Cobra Kai star while suitable Blue Beetle‘S Production set for May 2022. The superhero suit was quick to garner praise from the fanbase, though some compared its look to the MCU’s Iron Man.

Although he was originally headed for an HBO Max debut, Blue Beetle is now slated for a big-screen release in August this year, with marketing ramping up and a trailer apparently on the way soon.

New look at Blue Beetle’s DC suit revealed

New art from DC Blue Beetle has recently surfaced online, revealing brand new looks of Xolo Maridueña’s superhero suit ahead of its upcoming August release.

Merchandise art featured Blue Beetle in a ready for action pose with his superhero armor in full glory.

Jaime Reyes becomes Blue Beetle and gets his superhero suit after the college grad finds the Scarab, an ancient piece of alien biotechnology. After choosing the boy as his symbiotic host, the scarab is given the Blue Beetle armor and some extraordinary superpowers.

As such, a second piece of artwork shows Blue Beetle’s mask up close, with the suit clearly engraved with scarab-like designs to reflect its origins.

Another artwork shows the young superhero leaping in front of a vibrant and colorful town – likely El Paso, as that’s the usual home of Reyes’ Blue Beetle. This graphic is similar to the original concept art for the DC film, which was released in late 2021.

When will Blue Beetle Marketing get going?

DC’s other summer 2023 film release, The Lightning, debuted its first trailer in February during the Super Bowl, about four months after release. Following the same pattern Blue Beetle was supposed to debut its first trailer in April, which fits in well with the recent promise that footage will be out pretty soon.

Fans can look forward to new artworks coming to the surface Blue Beetle Marketing really gets going in the coming weeks on the way to the first trailer. This should be exciting for many after things have been rather quiet around the new DC film following the completion of production in July 2022.

Like everything from the old regime, Blue Beetle’s fate beyond its film remains uncertain for now as the DCU sets course for a reboot. Although Blue Beetle‘s poster offered a glimmer of hope as it referenced the film “just the beginning,” possibly suggesting that it will indeed be the first film of this new world.

Whether Jaime Reyes’ Blue Beetle has a future in the DCU will largely depend on how his debut performs. Fortunately, there have been some positive signs Blue Beetle how the film supposedly received “very good” at test screenings, with particular praise for the action and the star Xolo Maridueña.

Blue Beetle hits theaters on August 17th.
