Dead 25-foot humpback whale washes up at Grassy Sound Marina in North Wildwood, New Jersey

NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) – South Jersey residents woke up to quite a sight Sunday morning.

A dead humpback whale was discovered beneath the docks in North Wildwood.

According to the Grassy Sound Marina, responding officers said they received reports of a dead whale off the coast about a week ago.

Action News reports that this juvenile humpback whale is approximately 25 feet long.

Marine units are awaiting the US Coast Guard and Marine Mammal Stranding Center to decide how to dispose of the remains.
