Delaware’s Bishop Aretha Morton dies at 85
Aretha Morton was the first female Baptist pastor in Delaware.

WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) — A pioneering Delaware religious leader has died.
Aretha Morton was the first female Baptist pastor in Delaware.
She became the first woman and first African-American chaplain in the Wilmington Fire Department.
A chain of black pennants was draped over the signboard of the Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral in Wilmington, where Bishop Morton was its longest serving pastor.
Morton was 85 years old.
