Dimitar Berbatov chooses between Liverpool superstar Salah and Spurs’ Son for Premier League Golden Boot award

Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur star Dimitar Berbatov has made his selection of players who will win the Premier League Golden Boot this season. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is leading the race with 22 goals, while Tottenham’s Son Heung-min is right behind him with 21 goals.

One of the two is likely to take the top scorer award because there are no other players in sight. Cristiano Ronaldo is third with 18, but he is confirmed to miss the final day through injury.

Salah has won the award twice before – in the 2017-18 season with his record 32 goals. He won it again the following season with 22, sharing it with Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Just one goal separates Son and Salah in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot – who will finish the season as the league’s top scorer? ️

Salah could become only the fourth player in history to win the Golden Boot at least three times. Meanwhile, Son has surpassed 20 goals for the first time in a season with Spurs and could become the first Asian player to win the award.

Berbatov, who won the Golden Shoe in 2011, is helping the Koreans beat rivals Liverpool. He told Betfair (via The Mirror):

“I am encouraging Son to join the club and become a top scorer in the Premier League; he has to score one to level with Salah, and two to get the lead. He can do that and secure a Champions League spot for Spurs in the process. ”

Tottenham face bottom team Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday in a tie. They can also score some goals, considering their poor defensive record this season. Son will aim to get a few under his own belt.

A win will confirm the north London team’s place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah steals Player of the Year award

Salah currently leads the Premier League in goals (22) and assists (13). However, that was somehow not enough to help him win the ‘Player of the Year’ award, which was replaced by Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Liverpool’s performance has been on the decline lately, but to come up with such incredible numbers is astounding.

Mo Salah leads the Premier League in goals and assists this campaign. He was not named Player of the Season.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists. He is also on the verge of winning the title with Man City on Sunday. However, the decision to award him the award instead of Salah has divided public opinion.
