Disenchanted Poster Highlights Giselle’s Dark Turn

This November, viewers can finally return to Andalasia as a long-awaited one Disenchanted coming to Disney+. The sequel to the popular hit Enchanted sees the return of many familiar faces as Amy Adams‘ Giselle fights to make her happily ever after. A month before closing, Disney+ shared a new poster for the film. The streamer also revealed that the release date has been pushed back to November 18 from its initial Thanksgiving release.

The new poster features Adams as Giselle in a pose similar to the first poster. However, this latest poster gives viewers a closer look at Adams. It drenches them in warm reds and oranges that would normally remind one to curl up in the fall months (especially when the film releases right around Thanksgiving). This time, the colors serve to reiterate that Giselle isn’t the same glassy woman viewers met in Enchanted. Surrounded by a tangle of vines, Adam’s expression is one that suggests something even more sinister.

Disenchanted is discontinued 15 years later Enchanted. Giselle and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) are married, Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino) is a teenager and the couple have welcomed a new baby into the family. Despite this seemingly perfect life, Giselle has grown weary of city life and the sparkle of happily ever after has become jaded. To recapture the magic, Giselle and her family move to suburban Monroeville. The town’s queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), doesn’t make it easy for Giselle. Desperate to return to the perfect life, Giselle turns to Andalasia for help, but a spell gone wrong endangers the kingdom, the real world, and Giselle’s happiness.
