A DIY fan has revealed a genius trick to give old roller blinds a makeover without having to replace them.

A woman named Helen shared in a TikTok video how she wonderfully uses paint to transform her bedroom.

First, Helen notes how she quickly vacuums her blinds with a handheld vacuum to remove residual dust.

Then the DIY craftsman added water to a pretty pink pastel finish.

Next, she can be seen lightly spraying the curtains with water, which she says needs to be done between layers.

Then, using an ordinary paintbrush, Helen carefully proceeded to paint horizontally across the curtain.

She can be seen in the video applying three coats to ensure full coverage.

At the end of the clip, her formerly dull gray curtains are no longer recognizable by a clever splash of color.

She panned the camera for a quick look at the rest of the bedroom furniture, showing how the shade now enhances the space.
