‘Doctor Strange 2’: Marvel TV Series Alum Breaks Silence on Cameo

In the midst of the MCU’s newest big-screen entry, Mordo – Sorcerer Supreme on Earth-838 – introduces Stephen Strange to the Illuminati, a secret society led by Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier (of X Men movies) and counting among its ranks is Reed Richards (“Mr. Fantastic” of Fantastic 4, played here for the first time by Jack Ryanby John Krasinski) and Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch plays her Captain Marvel role).

The Illuminati also includes Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter, rocking the superhero Captain Carter character that was teased in Disney+ animation What if…? series, as well as Blackagar Boltagon aka Black Bolt, who was briefly replayed by ABC’s Anson Mount Marvel’s Inhumans – with both a little wink and a much-needed costume upgrade.

Nearly two weeks after the blockbuster’s release, Mount spoke about his cameo, writing on Twitter that the call he received from Marvel Studios director Kevin Feige “was one of the most unexpected things of my life.” .

“It is an honor and pleasure to finally work with [director] Sam Raime [sic] who reached out to me to get my attention on the best way to do this,” added Mount. “Beyond gratitude for the experience.”

Mount, who now title Paramount + ‘s Star Trek: Strange New Worldslimit his messages with the emoji “🤯”, i.e.… fit (if a little #TooSoon)… and attach an illustration of the comic book character Black Bolt, whose appearance he could better emulate Doctor Strange 2 than in In humans.
