Doja Cat delves into Britney Spears comparisons
After shaving her head last summer, Doja Cat has been compared to Britney Spears, who shaved her head bald during a 2007 meltdown.
Speaking to Variety, Doja Cat addressed the comparison.
“It’s so incredibly disrespectful for people to downplay what Britney went through and make a joke of something that was very serious and a big thing in her life. Every time I see a comment like this, I can’t calculate what’s happening other than it’s just an awful thing,” Doja Cat told the outlet.
The rapper says she’s never felt more beautiful than she does now.
She continued, “I wasn’t exercising and I wasn’t really taking care of myself the way I wanted to. I was like, ‘I have to do something’, so I just cut everything off. And I could see the shape of my head. I could see my whole face… it’s the best choice I’ve ever made and I’ve never felt more beautiful.”
