Driver dead in fiery crash on I-95 near Concord Pike in Wilmington, Delaware

The truck burst into flames with the driver still inside.

WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) — One person died in a fire accident on I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of the highway at Concord Pike over Brandywine Creek.

Police say a pickup truck went off the road, got behind a construction site and crashed into a structure.

It burst into flames while the driver was still inside.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused significant delays in morning rush hour traffic.

The investigations are ongoing.
