Driver survives high-speed crash in Frankford

Police say the driver of a white pick-up truck was going about 100 miles an hour when he lost control.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A driver got away with minor injuries after a car accident in Frankfurt.
It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on Frankford Avenue and Ruan Street.
Police say the driver of a white pick-up truck was going about 100 miles an hour when he lost control.
The truck struck an “El” pillar on the sidewalk and landed on the front steps of a townhouse.
A vehicle parked nearby was also damaged in the crash.
The force of the impact ejected the driver from the vehicle.
The 57-year-old driver was taken by medics to Temple University Hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.
This is an active investigation with the Accident Investigation Department.
