Drivers are only just realising that they can remove scratches with a £1 product that everyone has at home

DRIVERS are amazed at a super cheap hack that will get rid of scratches on your car’s paintwork.
The genius tip is to use an everyday household item that you can easily buy at any supermarket.
A light scratch repair can cost up to £100, but if you follow this advice you’ll need to spend less than £1.
TikTok user @mottoloka uploaded a video showing how to easily remove light stains on your car with toothpaste.
The footage begins with the TikToker pointing to some scratches on his car’s front fender.
He then applies three lines of toothpaste to a cloth before we see the minty goo smeared on the scratches.
Then the toothpaste is carefully wiped off with a soft microfiber cloth and at the end you can see a shiny surface underneath.
Users were quick to comment below, praising the useful hack.
One said: “Oh my god! amazing that it really works. Thank you for your information.”
Another commented: “Wow it works great thanks I was worried about my car.”
While another grateful viewer said, “I’ll do that right away on my rental before I return it, thanks.”
Those who try the handy hack should follow the steps below:
Wash and dry the affected area to make sure you don’t rub any debris or dirt into the scratch.
Use warm, soapy water (proper car shampoo is best), then rinse before drying with a clean, dry cloth.
Next, take a dampened microfiber cloth and put about a 2 cent amount of toothpaste on it.
Rub the toothpaste into the scratch in a circular motion –
Apply enough pressure to ensure the paste is well distributed over the affected area.
After rubbing the stains, rinse the area thoroughly with soapy water to ensure excess toothpaste is removed.
Finally, dry it off with a high-quality microfiber cloth.
