Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris Link Up Again for ‘Potion’

“One Kiss” was all it took for Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris to work together again. On Thursday, the singer and DJ released their second collaboration, Potion — a sexy pop-EDM banger with a verse by Young Thug.

“It’s an honor to work with Dua and Thug again. They are both such dynamic artists who have contributed so much to today’s music landscape,” Harris said in a statement.

The track opens with an electric guitar solo before diving into a disco-like beat that accompanies Lipa’s signature vocals. “Late Night Conversations, Electric Emotions/Sprinkled with a little bit of Sex and it’s a Potion,” Lipa sings in the song’s chorus. “Late night body ache, mental stimulation/flecked with a bit of sex appeal and it’s a moment.”

The track is accompanied by a music video, which is scheduled to premiere on Friday morning. Lipa teased the music video and shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram on Thursday. Earlier in the week, Harris shared a “How I Made ‘Potion'” video in which he walked TikTok viewers through the making of the soon-to-be summer anthem. “I started with the keyboard and added a guitar strap on top. Here comes the bass: Aw, nice and smooth,” he said, before sharing a screen capture of his FaceTiming Lipa.

The DJ-pop star duo last teamed up in 2018 for the hit song “One Kiss.” Harris and Thug previously teamed up with Pharrell and Ariana Grande on Heatstroke. Potion follows Harris’ latest release Lonely, which features Sananda Maitreya and Riva Starr. He also released Rollercoaster with Solardo last year. Harris will release his sixth album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2later this year.

Meanwhile, Lipa released Sweetest Pie, her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, earlier this year.
